Dentistry is a rapidly evolving field. What is popular today is outdated a few years later. The influx of more durable biocompatible materials along with efficient instruments and equipment has certainly helped dentists in achieving substantial clinical success. Newer sophisticated and precise techniques launched by eminent clinicians shorten the treatment and chairside time. The question arises how to keep pace with these changes, refine your skills, and give your best to the patients. It is not possible for every graduate to enroll in masters program, pay a hefty fee with low returns due to mushrooming of numerous dental clinics. Under these circumstances, short duration skill development programs prove to be increasingly useful and successful. Implant courses, esthetic dentistry programs, endodontic trainings, dental photography courses, and oral surgery workshops offer a wide range to both dental graduates and postgraduates to update themselves and keep abreast with the latest in the field. India is emphasizing more and more on skill development programs as these are instrumental in generating employment. Hence, lets all of us work together and help the next generation of our dental fraternity to be successful dentists by improving their proficiency through skill development programs.
